Recently, I stumbled across a website where fine art from a registered community has been curated and made available for purchase by that same community. I'm pretty sure I'm very late to the game learning this place even existed, but I suppose better late than never. For any others like me who were out of the loop, the website is Saatchi Online.com. It reminds me of DeviantArt, except it's executed on a much larger platform...and in a much cleaner fashion. The featured work is well-organized by date, collection, artists, subject/style and even price.
The premise is fairly straightforward: discover art and get your art discovered. At first glance, you would think that fine art needs to experienced; as in a museum or a private gallery of sorts. But on second thought, people with the discretionary income to invest in fine art are likely savvy enough to use a variety of ways to find or gain access to it. In fact, part of the appeal of fine art collection is the discovery of it. And what better place to find these valuables than conveniently on your computer?
Well this is interesting. I didn't know this service was available. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYes though art needs to be experienced, I also believe that in today's busy world anything on the internet that is accessible to people any time of the day also counts as an experience!
