Modern Day Christ

The cross is historically symbolic. And these six images are clearly saying something about the people of today's cultures. I was on Facebook and came across this photography posted on Ilgar Burdani page (https://www.facebook.com/ilgar.burdani). With three thousand plus likes, I had to check out the significance of each image.  They are as followed:

1st one refers to the Vatican pedophilia.
2nd shows the child sexual abuse in tourism in Thailand.
3rd refers to the war in Syria.
4th image refers to trafficking in organs on the black market, where most of the victims are children of poor countries.
5th refers to free U.S. weapons.
6th image refers to obesity, blaming the big fast food companies.

In history the cross has been a symbol of endearment, but rather that of death. In this particular artwork, the artist is not referencing a savior dying for the world, but rather those in society killing the innocent knowingly. This particular artwork suggests six observations that lead to untimely demise of those who live in the world. I love the symbolism correlation between the cross and the Christ like figure in these modern day parallels.
