Ashley Wood

The final discussion in class today had me thinking, when Neo-Expressionism popped up in the 80s did it have any kind of influence on illustration? It only took me about two minutes to think of one illustrator who would fit right in with Eric Fischl if he had been born sooner and that artist is Ashley Wood.

Ashley Wood is an Australian illustrator who's known for his expressive painting style and his penchant for painting nudes and robots. I'm almost positive that if he'd been working back in the 80s he might have been one of the artists popping up in art history books for Neo-Expressionism.
